Status/Family: Widowed; had one son, Rani, and a step-son, Gil, from a previous marriage to a woman named Abira. (All three deceased, though no one gave Rani the memo.) Currently in a relationship (Reese).

Eternal Rival: Belial

Occupation: Currently unemployed; worked construction. Constantly hunting for a job; does odd jobs for his brother in the interim. Part-time investigator and demon hunter for Pier Six Investigation, although he doesn't exactly get paid to do it.

General Description: 173 centimeters tall (5'8"), 12st12lb (82 kilo/180 pounds). Lean and muscular. Asiantic-slant eyes, hawkish nose. Grey eyes (silver when Asbeel becomes more prominent); hair is jet black and mostly short, though his bangs are longer and unevenly cut.

Clothes: Tends to favour baggy shirts and loose-fitting jeans. Almost always wears motorcycle boots. Owns a classic motorcycle-cut leather jacket.

Telltale Marks: Tattoo on back--tribal stylised wings. (See simple logo and "Five of Cups" for image); no piercings as human, although he does have four staples in his back, two on either side of his lower spine; in the stages of ascending to full Elohim Seraph he has the various places where Chalybs is connected to him. (See Chalybs for more information on its manifestation.)

Personality: A bit of a loner, but when he does make friends, they're for life. Quiet, protective. The straight man of Pier Six, usually keeping Eddie and Ray on the right track.

Quirk: Addicted to coffee (four sugars, no cream). Has a slight British accent, uses British-typical slang. Cusses constantly.

Sin: Fell in love with a daughter of clay. Didn't learn from the experience.

Weapon/Abilities: Chalybs, a lesser metal elemental bound by the Taint of Phase to him. Consists of a large slab of metal that could be considered a blunt sword and a yet-to-be-determined-the-exact-length of chain. It could be as long as a full kilometer long, not even Cade knows for sure.

Idea Pool: Cade is not a social person by nature, and usually appears annoyed or bored if dragged around by Wulfie or Eddie. He does seem to lighten up whenever he's around Reese. He is an avid (Catholic) churchgoer, and doesn't usually miss Sunday mass. He prefers normal coffee over specialties and tends to pour over newspapers whenever he goes for a cuppa. He does not seem at all bothered by Nata's theological discussions, and it surprises those who really know him how sucked in he can get when talking to her. Although he lives with Reese, his actual bedroom at his brother's place is covered floor to ceiling with news clippings, mostly in reference to unsolved mysteries.

 

 

 

True Form Description Pretty much this is open to interpretation; his race are normally fourth-dimensional critters, but as it is, we can only perceive three of them. They're obviously not human nor anthropomorphic. Asbeel's unique handicap is he's usually grounded by preternatural chains (Chalybs). Basically, think Elder Gods, only slightly more cuddlier. This was a brain dribble that was formed during a break in first book edits: "The mass before them was definitely not human. It roiled in a swirl of appendages resembling wings, some disjointed, some even severed only to be reabsorbed into the primary form. "Within the writhing mass was a glow akin to dying embers, sporadically flaring in bursts. A low groan more felt in vibration than heard as strange, impossible feathers broke off from the appendages, twisted bizarrely as they descended and embedded forcibly into the broken ground, ushering small tremors. "A harsh, grinding noise blasted, whipping the wind and firing dirt and debris in all directions. Six pylons constructed from wings emerged from the mass, rising around the curve of an invisible sphere, only to fall short as chains wound up the length, constricting, entangling. Flashes of silver blinked rapidly along the pylons, then the primary mass, before the entire entity lit up with these countless orbs, the blinking slowing to a steady fading in and out. "Another blast of subaudible noise washed over the area as the entire creature attempted move from its position before it collapsed onto itself." Lame-ass final boss form Or something like that. I'm still working on ideas for it.
